China has successfully developed a quantum computer control system with independent intellectual property rights

The system, named the original quantum measurement and control machine, was officially unveiled on December 6.

The system, named the original quantum measurement and control machine, was officially unveiled on December 6.

Quantum computer is a hot research field in the international academic circle, and the control system is one of the technical difficulties. The traditional quantum computer control system in China is mostly built with imported equipment, which has some problems such as high cost, functional redundancy, compatibility and poor integration.

Guo Guangcan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is one of the earliest scholars to study quantum information in China. Guo Guoping, professor of the University of Science and Technology of China, is the chief scientist of the national "Super 973" project solid-state quantum chip. In recent years, he has successfully developed a 2-bit semiconductor quantum chip and a 6-bit superconducting quantum chip.

Guo's team established Hefei Benyuan Quantum, a platform for transforming scientific and technological achievements, last year and has applied for more than 60 patents in quantum computer hardware and software so far. Recently, their innovative method successfully broke through the technical problem of quantum computer control system, and integrated the functions in a machine that can fully realize the control of quantum chips, named the original quantum measurement and control machine.

"If the quantum chip is compared to the adult brain, the quantum computer control system is equivalent to the human bone, and the quantum software is the flesh." Guo Guangcan introduced that the basic function of the original quantum measurement and control machine is to provide the key signals required for the operation of the quantum chip, and to be responsible for the processing of the information returned by the quantum chip, and to perform the compilation of the quantum computer program. It can not only maximize the performance of quantum chips, but also be applied to a wider range of scientific research fields such as precision measurement
